I ran it for 7 hours powering my fifth wheel amp plug converted and it ran flawlessly. When you turn the selector switch to OFF, it takes a minute or two to run the gas out of the line to shut it down, so don't panic, the switch does indeed work to shut it off.

I had a 2K watt previously and it just wasn't enough to handle the microwave and other accessories, so I upgraded to the Generac 3K watt and at first was impressed at how quiet it was and how it seemed to handle all my accessories fairly easy ripening through the 30amp RV outlet, but then So I went to town and bought a second heater and had the same issue.
I tried powering it through the 30 amp outlet with an adapter and had the same problem. Unfortunately I have no idea how a 3K watt generator can't handle a watt space heater, but this generac cannot unfortunately. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I run non-ethinol fuel and make sure the oil level is good, so I'm just not sure if the governor is set too low so it can't reach a true watts or what the issue is? Back to the drawing board I guess.
Would I recommend this generator now? Probably not. At first, absolutely. Rated 5 out of 5 by Randall from Simple to start. Easy to start and run. Real quite to run. Can hardly hear it running when compared to my older generator that this replaced. I used one and it's quiet and worked flawlessly. I used it for about a week nonstop. The power lasted about 8 hrs per tank full. I powered a house refrigerator, washing machine, several fans and computers. I did buy the inverter generator parallel kit to tie the two units together to supply but did not need it yet.
The DC receptacles are protected by a DC circuit breaker. If the generator is overloaded or an external short circuit occurs, the circuit breaker will trip. If this occurs, disconnect all electrical loads to determine the cause of the problem before using the generator again. I Call Customer Service at with questions or concerns about equipment operation and mainte- nance.
Before Starting Engine 1. Verify engine oil level is correct. Verify fuel level is correct. Verify unit is secure on level ground, with proper clearance and is in a well ventilated area. K the units are running. Start both units per starting instructions.

Replace the screens, and retainer, and secure with clamp. To service spark plug: Fig. Remove spark plug cover. Clean area around spark plug. Remove and inspect spark plug. Inspect electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and reset spark plug gap to 0. Keep fuel fresh, use fuel stabilizer. If fuel stabilizer is added to fuel system, prepare and run engine for long term storage.
Run engine for min- utes to circulate stabilizer throughout fuel system. Dial turned off. Turn on Dial. Out of fuel. Fill fuel tank.
Defective spark plug. Replace spark plug. Plugged fuel filter. Replace fuel and fuel filter. Compruebe Fig.
